Mars Bar Cake Bars

Hi guys welcome back and today I am going to share a much loved recipe with you. Now the actual recipe I found on pinterest but this was a childhood favourite of mine but I'm not sure of the exact recipe used all those years ago but this recipe sure tastes pretty damn good!

So for these you will need -
270g of Mars Bars
120g Butter
1 1/2 tablespoons of golden syrup (30ml)

120g Rice bubbles

For chocolate icing -
225g milk chocolate
45g butter

Firstly you need to line a baking tray.

Then place the butter, mars bars and golden syrup in a saucepan over a medium-low heat. Stir constantly using the spoon to break up the mars bars and squash any bits of nougat that are slow to melt.

The mixture may seem separated at first just keep stirring until the mixture thickens slightly and is fairly smooth, then remove from heat.

Place rice bubbles in a large bowl, add mars bar mixture and stir until its all combined. Press mixture into the prepared pan and pop in the fridge.

For the chocolate icing melt the chocolate and butter over a very low heat. Once melted spread over the rice bubble mixture and place all back in the fridge until set. Cut into 18 pieces to serve. Store in an air tight container in the fridge.

I made a video over on my youtube channel of me making this that you can check out here
